We need to first and foremost believe that each of us does possess the potential to live in the world as an independent, complete human being. Sure we can’t live complete without society. With that belief in mind, we now know that we should become a better person so as to become a better contributor to the betterment of the world. How do we do that? We spend time acquiring skills, knowledge and wisdom, which requires a lot of time and effort. We can’t do that if distracted from time to time. We can only do that well if focused.
For some people living alone can be heaven while for others hell. That is one of the many things that distinguishes us as human beings. Living alone can be the most harsh yet beautiful feeling ever. It will make you aware of who you are as a person more specifically, give insights about your own self. It’s the best way to clear the chaos in your life and give yourself a direction in your professional as well as personal life. Your own personal space or home can be your very intentional retreat but this is a trait that you’d have to acquire over time. Practicing solitude can be one of the best ways of gaining proficiency in dwelling in your own thoughts.
Use the opportunity to develop awareness, knowledge, happiness. To live alone you must be really happy in the only company that you have that is yourself. To be happy with yourself, you must think of yourself as somebody that you enjoy spending time with. You must learn to thrive in your own company. You want to listen to your inner voice but at times it gets muffled up against other people’s thoughts, perceptions and ideas. People feel that their inner voice might get too loud for them and that is when you need to shift your energy doing different things perhaps reading a book, watching a movie or maybe hanging out with some peers would be perfect.
