India has always been obsessive over the topic of competitive exams with every parents aiming for their children’s success in these competitive exams since according to most of them becoming a doctor or engineer is the only way to be successful in life and doing or becoming anything other than that means failure.
What most people fail to realise is that in this age of such cut-throat competition it is very difficult to be amongst the top 0.1% that make it through these examinations and join their preferred courses and colleges the rest just have to settle. A major part of these students are compelled by their family to do what they expect out of their children when they have some other talents and can do exceptionally well with that but they have to settle according to their parents wish. Students also have their interests like some are brilliant dancers, singers, orators etc. It depends on you what you choose in your life, either keep regretting about your past or try to explore yourself. If their families would have accepted them taking a different path in their life they could have proved to come out as very successful in their preferred field but very few of them get such a chance.
Even if those average kids work really hard and somehow manage to marginally make it through these exams they end up getting colleges that don't have any significant value and they even have to pay large sums of money in order to complete their courses. They somehow get through it thinking that they'll get a job right out of college but when that times comes they end up not getting getting any placements along with a load of of fee-loan to repay.
Ultimately, it only depends on where your passion lies. Whatever it is give it your all you don't need the perfect college or perfect course title in order to be successful in your life, you just the fire in your soul to turn the odds in your favour. No matter how many times you fall, get up. Make yourself ready for another challenge. Life is the most precious gift bestowed upon us by God so embrace it and no matter what your dream is, chase it with unparalleled determination. Ultimately, it’s your knowledge that will make you successful in life and not your degree.
