It is nicer to give than to receive
The old saying "it's better to give than to receive" is true: spending the money on others or donating to charity makes you happier than buying stuff for yourself. Many people believe that if you make more money, you will be much happier. According to our studies, small modifications in how you do things can make a big difference.
In a study, Individuals who spent money on others were happier regardless of their income level, whereas those who spent more on oneself were not. Money isn't really essential in terms of happiness, according to most previous study. Those that have to do with connections, with other people, and things that serve to generate meaning, or a sense of purpose in life, are significant.
Receiving is crucial and required. Giving is a fantastic feeling, but it only works if there is someone to receive it. Allowing oneself to be a generous recipient is humbling, and it's a true act of love since it allows others to contribute. Giving comes so naturally to us because it appeals to the part of our nature that yearns for connection. Give, even if you don't have much to give. If that's all you've got, that's all you'll give. When giving someone a present, it doesn't matter how big or expensive it is; it's the thought that goes into it that counts; even simple gestures can bring a smile to someone's face. Finally, you can't give away something you don't have. The amount you contribute isn't as important as the level to which you give your heart.
