This article is for all the students who are confused that
what part of math should they take in higher secondary . This question
specially occurs to the science students , especially for those who want to
pursue Btech or medical . As we know that now in higher secondary , maths is
devided in to two parts which are applied maths and core maths . So which one
should you take , which will help in you further studies or simply in future .
First let's briefly discuss the concept of applied maths and
core maths :-
Applied Maths :- Applied maths involves the application of
maths to problems which arise in various areas, like science, engineering or other diverse areas,
and for the development of new or
improved methods to meet the challenges of new problems . Application of
mathematics to real-world problems with the goal of explaining observed
phenomena and predicting new, unobserved, phenomena. The development of new
methods to meet the challenges of new problems in the real world is applied
maths .
Core Maths :- The
subjects of core maths are to deepen competence in the selection and use of
methods and techniques , developing confidence in representing and analysing
authentic situations and in applying mathematics to address related questions
and building skills in mathematical thinking, reasoning and communication .
So , the students who want to pursue any kind of engineering
they must take core maths , also because in the examination the majority of
questions will be from core maths , and for the rest they can take applied
maths because that will be helpful in their career and as well as in future ,
in any aspect of life .
