Emotional sensitivity in human beings and it’s pros and cons

Often we come come across the idea of more and more people becoming detached from their friends and family and giving all their time of their work and job. It is certainly important to work but this is not everything that our lives consist of. Studies have shown that emotional sensitivity arises with one’s birth and is not something that can be attained over lifetime.

But specific emphasis need to put on the fact that with millennial’s workaholic nature and how is t detrimental to their personal lives. Material things can always be bought multiple times, its the immaterial things that makes our lives worth living and pushes us to achieve more and celebrate success, as many people still like to believe that you’re achievements are worthless if you don’t have someone to celebrate them with you. It is not a curse to be highly sensitive; it’s a trait and it can even be an asset if used properly and in the right direction.

If you are highly sensitive, you probably have to deal with feeling difficult emotions more intensely than some people, but the flip side of this means that you get to feel the sweet things in life very deeply too. There’s also the problem that humans are social primates and thus, vulnerable to valuing popularity over workable solutions. When you can’t pursue a logical solution to a problem because you’re straight-jacketed for fear of someone getting their precious feelings hurt, you enter a downward spiral. People do what looks good instead of what works. Things get worse. Good solutions now seem out of reach. More people who would otherwise stick to their guns see that good solutions seem out of reach, and those former fighters now throw their hands up and join the circle jerk.

Being mentally tough means that you accept change. It means you grow when faced with new experiences. Someone mentally tough doesn't walk outside, see something that disturbs them, then run back into their house and gripe about how disturbing it was.a sensitive person eschews learning. Sensitive people don't like new things. They only like their old things. Too many new things at once makes a sensitive person scared. When a sensitive person is scared, sometimes it makes them angry.

Sensitivity can be both a boon or a bane depending on how people try to use it. There’s always the concept of rightful balance emphasizing that excess of anything is bad for humans so going by the definition, the rightful balance of practicality and sensitivity is what is essential for a person to thrive.
