Attitude of false assurance

The attitude of self assurance or false assurance is pretty much significantly widespread in the current societal system. The narcissistic approach towards life might seem immediately functional for a particular individual but in the long run it’s faulty for a person as well as for the society.

People are ever so ready to make fun and despise other’s crisis and use them against them for their own personal benefits that it has become appalling. We come across rape victims, the infamous case of Nirbhaya in which people were extremely outrageous on the whole proceedings of the case. They were out on the road protesting, revolting, showing their dissatisfaction with the Police in handling the case. But 1 month into it and everyone forgot about the misdeed. Everyone was happy and content that it wasn’t a part of their life and nonchalant moved on. This is just not limited to this particular incident but rampant in every single aspects of our lives.

Everybody is so tangled in their own dilemmas and issues that thinking and talking about anything out of this context seems absurd. Nobody is so selfless and idle to be thinking and worrying about worldly things. Unless it involves politics then they’ll certainly have all the time in the world to talk, worry and discuss about such things and more often than not, their political preferences are largely based on their religious, casteist and regional beliefs and has little to do with rationality and deserving candidates. This nonchalant and narcissistic attitude of most individuals towards most things in life is bound to give everyone a hard time in the long run.

Perks of developing the habit of reading

We’ve often heard that developing the habit of reading is the best thing a person can do. It’s benefits are uncountable. When it comes to reading there’s no better superfood than reading itself. You may already be familiar with recent findings that suggest children as young as six months who read books with their parents several times a week show stronger literacy skills four years later, score higher on intelligence tests, and land better jobs than nonreaders.

When practiced over a lifetime, reading and language-acquisition skills can support healthy brain functioning in big ways. Moreover, reading books, especially fiction, has been shown to increase empathy and emotional intelligence which can further lead to more (positive) human interaction hence reducing stress levels. Reading helps your brain to be more active and it gives your brain a different kind of work out than watching TV listening to the radio. Reading helps you to find out the new real you, gives you a different perspective of life. That’s why it’s not so hard to digest the fact that most success people are immensely fond of reading.

Through reading your imagination and creativity increases, It gives you different ideas and understanding, good reader from the young age can become a good writer, reading sparks the imagination, When you read, you are taken into the new world, this thing nurtures your brain to develop ideas for new worlds and other possibilities, this sparks imagination. Reading helps you to understand differently.

The benefits of reading are countless and unlike any other pass time it’s bound to benefit you in one way or the other even if it’s just as trivial as helping you fall asleep faster or as significant as making you aware of the cosmos, the perks are endless.

So keep reading

If you want to live your life to the fullest, travel

Travel is a bliss and if there was one piece of advice I have for people today to experience more joy in life, it is to travel more. Travelling is wonderful in many ways. It captures us with a sense of wanderlust and has us longing for more destinations to visit, cultures to experience, food to eat, and people to meet. As amazing as traveling is, most of us think we need to wait until our later years to really explore a lot of the world.

There are plenty of things one can gain from exploring different places such as new friends, new experiences and new stories. When you start exploring new places, you get a better understanding of the people living there including their culture, history and background. Studies show that travelling can improve your overall health and enhance your creativity. Therefore, you need to take time out from your daily tasks, office responsibilities, hectic schedule and everyday pressures at least once in a year. Plan a tour to a new city with an open schedule and let life present you with the numerous opportunities that are waiting for you. We all have stress and tension in our lives. Traveling forces us to temporarily disconnect from our normal routine and it helps us appreciate the people and things you have around.

While travelling, you will find yourself stuck in situations where things don’t always go as planned. Such situations will help you learn to cope with the uncertainties in life. While also teaching you about how significance change is in this world and how important it is for us to accept and embrace cultural and regional differences as it helps us broaden our horizons and our mindset in general.

Travelling renders us with a sense of thrill in our otherwise monotonous life. Life is a wonderful gift. It really is, and as we travel and experience more of the world and life, we often become overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for all the beautiful moments we enjoyed and people we’ve shared them with.

India and it’s obsession with religion

Time and again we have witnessed major riots and wars amongst different religious groups in the tussle of proving their religion’s superiority over the others. Even though India is a religiously pluralistic and multiethnic country with rights to support other religions and give them equal opportunities, it’s cold attitude and hostility towards other religions cannot be neglected. Hate politics is a common phenomena. Communal tension between various Indian faiths and castes have plagued the society for a very long time.

It’s not that India is the only country with such hatred towards other religions but however, this is a very phenomena throughout the world from a very long time. From Hitler’s reign to terrorism, sadly this a pretty common phenomena. Somehow, hatred and compassion go hand in hand amongst individual of separate religions. Genuine piety can be a catalyst for compassion. But the shared rituals that create a cohesive congregation "may also produce hatred of others"—especially among those who lack deeply felt spiritual beliefs.

Religion was built on the principles of universal love and brotherhood. Manu, Mohammad, Jesus, Buddha, Nanak, Krishna all spoke about compassion and acceptance. But their followers, who accepted their words as holy gospels and developed religious boundaries out of them, focused more on preserving the respective domains and their names of their prophets than their teachings. Taking pride in being a Hindu and maintaining Hindu traditions has become more important that ‘being’ a Hindu. The same is true for all the other religions. Alas in the real world it turns out that when you choose one religion you automatically denounce the rest of them. Religion gives you the right and surprising the power to hate others who differ.

Ultimately, to have a stable world we will have to learn to respect qualities and differences of every religion and to walk hand in hand with everyone irrespective of their caste, religion, nationality etc. Humanity should be our religion and love our most important asset. This does seem like a utopian concept right now but with proper implementation of knowledge and rationality, the word ‘hate’ in itself could be a thing of the past.

Problems with reality TV shows

The genre of reality tv shows have been the point of major criticism since the genre first rose to fame back in the 1990s. Significantly, on it’s practice of using the word reality as a misnomer. The genre's title is often criticized as being inaccurate because of claims that the genre frequently includes—premeditated scripting; acting; urgings from behind-the-scenes crew to create specified situations of adversity and drama; misleading editing; etc. For these reasons and more, there has been controversy over the extent to which reality television truly reflects reality.

Other criticisms involve them creating celebrities out of people with no apparent talent whatsoever who don’t deserve fame, and that they glamorise vulgarity and materialism. Involvement of children in reality shows has reported to increase emotional distress and instability amongst children of such a tender age. Children are in a stage of emotional development where they are not emotionally equipped to handle rejection in a mature manner; and when they are not appreciated or fail to qualify, their mental state could affect the way they handle pressure situations for the rest of their life.

Reality television shows that focus on measuring a person’s talent can be entertaining to watch. However, as people are eliminated from the show, you may wonder if you’ll experience that type of rejection if you ever decide to pursue your dreams of acting, signing or designing. Reality TV can send the message that a person’s abilities and overall self-worth can be measured in the amount of votes they receive from the general public each week.

If you’re a fan of reality TV, the spoiled and entitled behaviour that you see on your favourite shows can both disgust and intrigue you. Reality TV can make you think you can do things that you really shouldn’t do, because the results aren’t going to be favourable. There are a lot of loopholes with this genre of entertainment but there’s not much that can be done about that. Ultimately, it comes down to people’s rationality whether they should continue watching it and subconsciously change their lives according to it or cut it out and invest our times in some good entertainment.

Generation gap and it’s effects

The problem of generation gap is universal and everybody across the globe faces the unchangeable problem. But this problem is experienced intensely in countries like India or Gulf countries where the families live united. Every single one of us has experienced some form of difficulty in understanding someone from a different generation. We’ve all felt that people older than you are hard to understand and younger generations just don’t get it. Certainly, it’s easier for us to connect with someone who is of the same age group as ours.

One factor that has heavily influenced generation gaps is the accelerating rate of change in society. In the 1800s, developments in society were slow. As a result, two or three generations lived lifestyles that were very similar to each other. There weren't many differences across generations. However, given technological and social advances that have taken place in the 20th and 21st centuries, the lifestyles of individuals even one generation apart are drastically different from each other. Another factor has been the increase in mobility. In earlier generations, society was not very mobile. Most people stayed in the same area of country. There was little to no contact with people from distant geographical areas. Access to information from other cultures and their advancements in terms of development was restricted to their respective areas. However with advancements in technology, people began to be introduced to new things.

But at the end of the day, we should have to learn to appreciate everyone for their individualities. Everyone has their own particular view of life and we need to learn to appreciate that since, for the proper functioning of the society all of their mindsets are important.

Does GPA matter in the real world?

Are you looking for comfort, some kind of reassurance that your college GPA won’t mean anything, and won’t affect your employability? Would you like to relieve some guilt feelings, that you goofed off and lazied around and gave yourself excuses for not studying or doing homework, and so got mediocre or poor grades?

The actual fact is that your college GPA is in fact, extremely important, for the rest of your life. Not the actual digits but on a larger scale. Unless it is distinctively outstanding, then it will be immediately noted with approval by a major section of the interviewing panel. Your college GPA shows how intricately you have applied your knowledge. It shows your diligence, your seriousness of purpose, your willingness to fulfill a lengthy task on your own, and your commitment to excellence.

The GPA is quite an accurate meter of all of that. People with a mediocre or low GPA demonstrate that they have a low level of intelligence, or else that they do not apply their intelligence well. They show that they have not learned very much, and did not learn basic material which was necessary to learn things that were more advanced and complex. The GPA quite accurately illustrates how diligent and persevering a person has been, over period of years in a fairly wide range of tasks and situations. And it certainly shows one’s dedication to achieving excellence in accomplishing the work at hand.

Your GPA says more than you can imagine about you as a person, and your potential and your appeal as an employee. More important, for your life, is what your GPA should tell you about yourself. If the number is and remains high from one term to the next, then you are doing and accomplishing what you should. If your GPA is unimpressive, then you have serious faults or deficiencies that need to be corrected. Otherwise, those flaws will either prevent you from getting a desirable job, or they will lead you to fail in that job — hence, limited or no salary advancement, and no promotions or progress in your career.

Golden rules for winning at life

Most people often think that living their best lives involve leaving their past selves behind and becoming a completely different person, coming out better than ever. But this is often not the case, thriving to become a better version of yourself every single day while embracing your true essence and individuality. Gracefully accepting your identity is also a great step towards living your best life, it requires throwing off the bowline and and setting a sail for what lies ahead.

To improve your life, focus on one key principle at a time until you embody the knowledge at a deeper level. Stop waiting for the destination to arrive soon but start enjoying the journey. We spend a large portion of our lives worrying about things we can’t change and it’s high time we finally learn to accept that and stop feeling powerless. Rather, we should learn to channelize this energy to things we can control and change and start giving our 100% in that, just doing that much is significantly going to improve our lives. Chaos is necessary in order to give birth to new beginnings , if you gauge on what is taking place based on first impressions , you are not seeing the entire picture.

Stop taking life to seriously and realise life as a concept doesn’t owe you anything because you are the expression of life itself. Start working on yourself and improving yourself as much as you can as ultimately you are going to be with yourself throughout your lifetime. Learn to be kind and compassionate towards every other being. Start respecting everyone alike, make peace with your past, approve of your true self and you’ll have for yourself a “winner”.

Letter from Canada: Indians Are Welcomed and Accepted Easily

As US President Donald Trump scraps one more immigration policy of the Obama era, many Indians who have spent sleepless nights to acquire the coveted Green Card are finally jumping ship and migrating next door -- to good old Canada!
For many talented and skilled Indians, the immediate alternative is Canada and this government is happy to welcome highly educated and technically skilled Indians. The Canadian Governments' Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) board pulled out some hard data at my request. It shows that India was the number one source country for migration to Canada in 2017 and is on track to retain that top slot this year as well.
The numbers tell the story. A research paper on H1B visas says there was a 42% increase in denial of H1B petitions of Indian-born professionals from the third to the fourth quarter of FY2017. Trump governments' trend to deny qualified folks an entry into the US.
But rejections apart, it is the fear of the US government deporting candidates whose applications are denied, that worries experts. "Clearly this is another policy that is meant to discourage people from making a career in the US," says Anderson. "Whereas other countries are trying to attract highly skilled people, for some reason, the current administration wants to encourage them to them to work anywhere but the US."
Under Canada’s 2016 Express Entry (EE) program that specifically deals with qualified people, a path to permanent residency is swift. It takes only a few months for qualifying candidates to acquire the Canadian permanent resident card (PR card), which is akin to the US Green Card.A huge growth of Indians migrating to Canada is also witnessed under the Canadian Experience Class program (CEC) of the EE, which is meant for temporary foreign workers and foreign graduates with Canadian work experience.
During 2016, only 1,800 Indians became PR holders, but that number grew to 11,490 in 2017---a whopping increase of 538%! The high trend of migration continues as 5,700 Indians became PR holders in the first five months of this year alone.
Another program that is seeing a lot of traction is the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP).  In 2016, (under the FSWP), 4,780 Indians received their PR cards.  That number jumped 82.6% to 8,730 Indians in 2017. Between January to May 2018, a whopping 12,090 PR cards were issued to Indians under this program. Indians are also looking at Canada more favourably because opportunities for technology experts are shrinking worldwide. Europe has seen a wave of right-wing anti-immigrant sentiment; the UK just had Brexit, Australia is revamping its immigration system, Singapore is now saturated and President Trump seems in no mood to stop badgering immigrants. For more details for study abroad and immigration visit http://gkworks.in/study-and-settle-abroad/study-settle-canada/ today!

How education loan can help your child study abroad and save tax

Many parents are demotivated as soon as their ward points out towards the cost of a foreign degree, the ward is focused on the future benefit and sees money as a trivial obstacle and has numerous plans of working part-time as he already knows how it works in a foreign land. But it’s the parents who are the most worried because 40-60lakh is not a small amount for a middle class family. And we at http://gkworks.in/ find so many such parents coming for a solution. We would like you go through the article in the source and to reassure you, if your savings ever fall short of what you need for your child’s college education abroad, you can always take an education loan to meet the gap. Education loans have tax benefits and are a better option over dipping into your retirement savings.

Interest paid on an education loan can be claimed as a deduction under
Section 80E with no upper limit. This helps reduce the effective cost of loan for you. The maximum benefit goes to those in the highest tax slab with the interest rate of 10% coming down to about 6.8%.
However, this benefit is available only for eight years beginning from the year in which deduction is first claimed. Also, gradually the benefit will decrease as the loan is paid off.

Most scheduled commercial banks offer loan of up to Rs 40 lakh for overseas education. The interest rates offered on loans for overseas studies range from 9.5-14%. The loan amount covers tuition fees, living expenses, travel expenses, expenses related to books, equipment, library and examination and insurance premium for the student. One key requirement for an overseas education loan is that it needs a co-applicant, which can be a parent, spouse or sibling. If the borrower goes abroad during the repayment period, the lender will recover the outstanding from the co-applicant. Don’t worry if it is still confusing just visit
http://gkworks.in/about/branch-offices/ and we will happily guide you through the process, remember we are always there to help!

Work 8 hours a day and you’ll ace any job, interview, task or work

Every job, interview, task requires a certain level of efficiency to be able to complete the given task in the given task. As the saying goes, It’s better to work smart than work hard. Certainly, hard work is important but the key to success lies in a person’s efficiency to do it.

No matter which job interview or resume you have, the basic point of evaluation is ultimately a person’s efficiency in his work. First, they’ll look for your marks. A 97% is straight up selected but so is a candidate with 80% marks and a zonal or state level medal of any sort of sports or any extra curricular activity. Similarly, a candidate with 60% will also make the cut until he /she has a national level certificate of any sports or extra curricular. Basically, they just don’t want a couch potato. What ultimately matters is their efficiency as a human to complete any task whatsoever on time. This is their way of evaluating a candidate on the basis of efficiency, whether they’ll be able to work rigorously for 8 hours continuously or not.

In the workplace, productivity, innovation and efficiency are always key—we all want to build a better mouse trap (and do it before anyone else!). Constantly check in with yourself to assess if what you are doing is productive. To be clear, productivity levels can always be improved. While multitasking is the holy grail of many an office culture, some psychologists advocate that attempting to manage several tasks at once may decrease performance levels. Don’t sweat it if your style is focusing on one task at a time. Find your unique grove and work it.

Is the rule of organising NEET or JEE two times a year correct?

The conducting of the examination twice a year is not something new. SAT, on a global level, is conducted multiple times during the year. The best of two approach can be implemented as they mentioned that they want to give candidates more opportunities in a year.

If an aspirant able to clear the exam on 1st attempt, well done! Relax, enjoy, and wait for admission. If not (or want to improve score), you can go for the 2nd attempt. Overall it can be a big change in how JEE or NEET aspirants prepare for the exam. Most would try to clear the exam in first attempt, means early syllabus completion. If they miss out, then they need to improve, study and practice hard for the next attempt.

Every student can finally take a sigh of relief since they’ll have an extra opportunity at making their dreams come true. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main), for undergraduate admission into various engineering colleges, will be held in January and April. The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), for admission into medical and dental courses, will be held in February and May. At present, both these tests are held only once a year. The main agenda behind this is to save the students from wasting an entire year. In case, they suffer from an ailment or due to any other reason a student is not able to give their 100% in the exam, they won’t have to wait for an entire year to have a shot at pursuing their dream course. This will give more chances to students, thereby giving adequate opportunity to bring out his/ her best.

How to make the best out of your free time?

When we think about overtly successful people and try to gain inspiration from them we usually tend to look at how they spend their 9 to 5 working hours and whether they walk an extra mile and come to work early or stay until late to tackle their projects. What we tend to forget is how they spend their leisure time, what they do in their weekends, what the do when they are away from computers is often overlooked, but that’s where their key to success lies. How people spend their free time can actually have a big impact on their success in the professional world.

There are certain habits and activities that they usually indulge in to help them grow as a person, as they usually like to put it; there’s no end of learning in this world, if we try with all our hearts this lifetime is going to appear short. One of the habits they cater is that of reading a lot. Reading is a lifelong skill, and successful people never stop reading new books. Whether it's fiction or nonfiction, books help give you a greater understanding of the world around you and also helps you build your vocabulary along with helping you learn new skills. Another habit they pursue is that they exercise, physical exercise is important for both physical and mental health. Taking a half hour after work or on a weekend can get your blood pumping, get your endorphins flowing, and revitalise your spirit.

Along with all this, it’s very necessary to spend quality time with your family, work aside they our world and job isn’t everything there is to us as humans. Focusing too much on your career is self-sabotage, no matter how counterintuitive that might sound. If you want to be successful in life, you have to prioritize your personal relationships--your bond with your friends and family members. Picking up some of these strategies can improve your abilities, improve your mindset, and expand your network to levels that will increase your chances for success in the workplace. Start incorporating a few of them into your free time routines and you might just be surprised at the results.

Last minute hacks for exam preparations

No matter how much you have or haven’t studied throughout the year, what time table you follow immediately before the exams can be a life changer. Certainly, leaving the complete syllabus for a day or two before the exams can get you in a lot of trouble with basically struggling to pass the exam somehow but other that that, last minute revision becomes very crucial to score good marks. No matter how much people ridicule it, but last  minute studying is helpful and important.

The first thing to do is revise all that you’ve studied throughout the year, notes, important topics, difficult topics everything. Stay aloof and away from all and focus on what you know rather than focusing on what you don't know. Revise what you know. Picking up new topics just a few days before the exams is a big NO and it can get very haphazard, possibly making you forget everything else. It would be great if you revise the notes you have made, which are short and crisp inspite of the entire thing. Revise smallest of the things, which accounts for big marks, like formulae, valency, equation etc, which may be small but hold good value.

Avoid group studies because more often that not, they’re just a waste of time with a few people making sure that the others are not able to study as well. The most important thing is to not lose confidence on yourself because once you lose that you’re doomed. Finish all of it, atleast 5-7 minutes before the exam time and close it all off. While entering the exam, enter only with your prerequisites and stay calm and find your seat early and grab it. For good 2 minutes take a feel of it and start humming a song a chill. At the end just remember that this is just an exam and not the end of the world. If you mess it up thats okay, you’ll have enough opportunities in  the future as well.

Education in India: Asset or liability

India has been biased on the idea of doing only the respect jobs. As it has been clearly established our country’s obsession with 9 to 5 formal jobs can be dated back to a few decades ago. Entrepreneurial jobs aren’t given much significance and are often left for the less educated or below average brains while the intelligent and hard working candidates are expected to do a degree in either engineering or medicine and settle for a 9 to 5.

India’s obsession with these two fields is getting crazy day by day with parents pushing their children to extremities to make sure that they pass through the exam so much so that some students even resort to commit suicide in order to avoid this vicious cycle when the pressure becomes unbearable. This cycle is constant for people of all backgrounds whether they are the employees of a multi-national company or a minimum wage worker, all of them want their respective children to work as a formal employee in a 9 to 5 job. “If they are educated, they shouldn't have to do menial jobs” , is the basic mindset amongst such people.

The fact that India has somehow managed to render education for anyone and everyone is commendable. But the basic problem remains the same that with the immensely growing population there isn't enough job opportunities for the graduates. A growing population of young people becomes an asset only when it has the skills to become an economically productive segment of society. Otherwise, it ends up being an economic burden, consisting of more mouths to feed.

Education and development of skills will go a long way in ensuring that large chunks of future generations don't end up the same way. To do that, the government and corporate sector will have to join hands. In order for India’s growing population to be converted into an asset we’ll have to render them with a larger variety of job opportunities so that each and everyone gets an opportunity of having a settled and stable job.

How to improve productivity at work?

Working continuously for 8 to 9 hours can be a dainty task and also decrease your productivity to a significantly lower level. In order to use your time efficiently it’s important to work smart rather than working hard.

There are only so many hours in the day, so making the most of your time is critical. There are two ways increase your output--either put in more hours or work smarter. Being more productive at work isn't rocket science, but it does require being more deliberate about how you manage your time. One step in this direction is to keep an accurate track of your time, it’s much more difficult than it seems. Along with this taking regular breaks is a very good idea in order to improve your productivity, concentration and spending less time doing so. Some research has shown that taking short breaks during long tasks helps you to maintain a constant level of performance; while working at a task without breaks leads to a steady decline in performance. It’s mandatory to give up on the illusion of being perfect rather than that channelize your energy to be the best version of yourself because nothing is ever truly perfect.

If you change a few of your day to day habits you’ll succeed in your attempt in being the best versions of yourself and will be able to increase your productivity immensely. Try cutting down your interruptions to your best ability. Having a colleague pop her head into your office to chat may seem innocuous, but even brief interruptions appear to produce a change in work pattern and a corresponding drop in productivity. Keep your eyes on the goal and realise what’s the important thing that need to be done and you’ll find yourself with a much more improved productivity.

How to be a successful CEO in your 20s?

CEO in your 20s? Seems pretty impossible if you think about it rationally but a careful consideration of the global trend for businesses, however, would tell us otherwise. The modern corporate world is fast changing and becoming more favourable to young business owners. Age was a huge factor for building credibility the past. The older and more experienced you were, the greater the power and respect you got but not anymore. These days, however, it’s different. You no longer have to wait until you’re forty for you to become a CEO.

As a rule of thumb, an aspiring CEO should understand the principle of adaptability. Keep in mind that nothing is constant. One day, you would be making crucial decisions for your company, and if you want to rise to the top, you would have to learn how to take advantage of trends. The theories you have learned in the classroom setting are important, but as a future CEO, hands-on experience is going to be even more valuable.

Managing a national or multi-national company at a young age can seem quite impossible but with the right tactics and antics you’ll be able to fathom everything that you want to achieve for your company. It can take time but you’ll get there.  In your journey you’ll have to go through various test and learn methods before you’ll realise or come to a conclusion what works for your company the best and helps it flourish.Take baby steps, improve your networks and in order to succeed as a CEO, you’ll have to excel in the art of making the correct financial decisions. The future of your company depends not only on your business acumen but also on your ability to make profit and avoid losses. For this, you would need a wealth of financial knowledge. So keep learning!

Worries of a rich man

To an average middle class individual it seems like having an enormous amount of money can solve all their problems forever but often this is not how reality functions. But it’s true: Being rich isn’t all wine and roses. Lazy kids, needy friends, constant lawsuit threats and other concerns plague wealthy people on the regular.

It has been rightly said that poor people have less money so they have less problems while wealthy people often have a shitload of things to worry about. Along with wealth comes the mental tension and various other problems. It’s certainly not a cakewalk. Being wealthy can have a downside for your kids. Such kids often termed as being with a silver spoon, have a sense of entitlement, prevent them from developing a strong sense of empathy and compassion.

It’s not like the rich don’t worry about money at all in fact they do it more so in comparison to the poor. The greed or lust for money is never fulfilled because most people think having more money will make them less afraid, make them feel safe and secure.

Money is a symbol. It is a tool. Your hammer can’t drive the nail in by itself. Money is the business part of your life. Your money didn’t make its own decisions. Your tools can’t control you. You control your tools. Own your actions and teach your grandchildren to do the same. We made up the fear story around money… now is your chance to rewrite the story. You don’t want them to wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, the way many of us do… worrying about money. In order to maintain a healthy relationship with money you have to come to grips with that part of your money life and legacy. Heal that part that has fears, or doubts, big or small.

Difference between friends, acquaintance and colleagues

There are many levels of friendship just as there are many levels of many other relationship. One of the most common mistakes we make is that of confusing friends with acquaintances and colleagues etc. Friendship develops over time but that doesn’t mean every acquaintance you have will convert to a friend over time. In order to have a properly healthy relationship with everyone it’s good to leaves certain people the way they are and not try and befriend every one you know.

An acquaintance is someone you know but only have minor level of relationship with. You probably do not have any intimacy with them apart from sharing some minor details of your life with them. A good example of this would be Facebook friends. We only interact with them on a very minor level and don’t know most of them very well. There is some sort of intermediary position between acquaintance and friend.  There is perhaps a tentative friendship level where you are trusting someone with some of the intimate details of your life to try out where the friendship might go.  You may be testing them a little to see how they react to various aspects of your life.  You are building trust and friendship level intimacy with them.

A friend is someone who will be there for you in every happy or sad event of your life. They are the ones you can rely on. You could share really practical issues with them that you'd be embarrassed to share with other people.  You may trust their judgement  because you know they are similar to you, or maybe you just like having a devil's advocate if their outlook is different. With a really good friend you could even ask them to be the executor of your will and trust that they knew you well enough to administer your will the way you would want it because they are very intimate with the details of your life.

It is necessary to weigh your levels of intimacy and commitment to people accordingly. Sharing too much and too soon to people who might not need to know you like that can be a deal breaker. Placing too much trust in someone you do not know well enough can lead to hurt and disappointment. Although, this is just a trait that we as human beings acquire over time. So, it’s best and in everyone’s interest to choose our friends wisely.

Work life balance and it’s importance in our lives

The term used for successfully maintaining and allocating time between work and other aspects of life like family, friends etc. This is a pretty recent term as for it origins traces back to being used in US and UK around the year 1970s to 1980s.Your best individual work-life balance will vary over time, often on a daily basis. The right balance for you today will probably be different for you tomorrow. The right balance for you when you are single will be different when you marry, or if you have children; when you start a new career versus when you are nearing retirement.

There is no perfect, one-size fits all, balance you should be striving for. The best work-life balance is different for each of us because we all have different priorities and different lives. Gender differences could lead to a work-life imbalance due to the distinct perception of role identity. It has been demonstrated that men prioritize their work duties over their family duties to provide financial support for their families, whereas women prioritize their family life this creates a straightforward bifurcation based on the whole “work life balance” difference for women and men in particular.

One of the predominant negative consequence of the work life conflict is stress, anxiety and other relaxed issues. Problems caused by stress have become a major concern to both employers and employees. Symptoms of stress are manifested both physiologically and psychologically. Persistent stress can result in cardiovascular disease, sexual problems, a weaker immune system and frequent headaches, stiff muscles, or backache. It can also result in poor coping skills, irritability, jumpiness, insecurity, exhaustion, and difficulty concentrating. Stress may also perpetuate or lead to binge eating, smoking and alcohol consumption.

Achievement and enjoyment are the two sides of the same coin. In order to be truly successful and satisfied in life, you’ll need to pay attention to every aspect of your life. Give the same emphasis to each one of them and you’ll realise how much better your life turns out to be.
