A new category of visa has been launched in the UK
to encourage growth in the research and development sector. For South Asian
countries like India and especially that of research scholars in Assam and the
Northeast, this new policy will unfold a wide array of field and opportunities
in research and development.
This allows individuals in entering the country
through this scheme to stay up to 2 years in the UK. It has been lauded in
India and the Northeastern region, where research scholars were facing
difficulties in getting work or study visas for a long time.
The GAE (also known as government authorized
exchange) is the route by which professionals, who wish to undertake work
experience and training are able to enter the UK. The scheme will be operated
by the UK’s research and innovation department.
UKRI, the scheme owner will monitor the sponsor
organizations and they will also require the individual Tire 5 sponsor
licenses. The UK government said that the new scheme demonstrates its
commitment to make the country “open, globally-trading “nation.
