MBA Preparations: How to crack the CAT exam?

MBA is one of the most sought after post-graduate courses in India and abroad. With the booming numbers of applicants every year it makes it one of the most competitive and nerve-wrecking exams in the country.

The MBA entrance is not looking for your knowledge of any particular subject but it evaluates you on your overall ability. So better pay attention on the basic abilities such as language, logical reasoning etc. The basic issue that arises when students think about taking MBA for their further studies is that they forget how important it is to be equally good in the reasoning as well as the english section for clearing the entrance exams. When engineers take up CAT for their master’s they have this overconfidence that their excellent maths is enough to crack the exams and that is where they fail.  The ones amongst them that devote equally time to all the sections equally gets through them the exams while others fail. This creates the basic distinction amongst students.

Other most important thing in your CAT preparations is to take up as many mock tests as possible in fact, this point is common for every entrance exams. Mock tests makes you analyse and correct your mistakes, they give you knowledge of your weak areas and this is very crucial for your preparations to improve in those areas. Making it a point to mark your mistakes in order to never repeat them helps you work on your strengths and weaknesses.

For the preparation of MBA you should keep in mind that studying strategically is what creates the difference between the ones who make it to the best business schools in India like the IIMs and others. So don’t underestimate any section and give equal time to every section and practice. Also don’t forget to time yourself while attempting every question since time management also needs to be taken care of while writing the exam.
