Practice, practice and
practice: It might seem a cliché tip but it is really difficult to
improve your score without a great deal of practice. Particularly for speaking
and listening, you just can’t advance your level if you do not spend a good
time on practicing. Even if your English is good, you need practice for
speaking and writing task. For speaking task, some of your friends can form a
group and try to practice speaking every day.
Improve your vocabulary: You must improve your vocabulary to get a band score
of 7 or above. It is better to have a notebook for new words where you can note
down all the new words you face every day and practice.
Time
Management: If you spend half an hour for the first comprehension and fail to
answer questions for the last comprehension, you will not get good score. In
writing also, time management is very important. You have to distribute your
one hour time in two writing tasks.
Watch movie and listen to
music, news: For many IELTS takers, the hardest part in the test is the listening
section. As we are not used to listening to English conversation, we find it
difficult to go with the conversation and collect information simultaneously.
This problem can be solved if you develop a habit of watching movie regularly.
This will also help you in speaking task. Also, it is good if you listen to
music and the news of BBC and CNN.
