‘Life is More Than Academics’
The NEET toppers, Mrinal Kutteri and Karthika G Nair who had qualified the NEET entrance examination in 2021by securing full marks and now pursuing medical in AIIMS, New Delhi. After securing good scores and getting admission in the renowned medical college, they have grown new interests.
Mrinal said that he is extrovert and is participating in cultural activities whereas Karthika has grown her passion for dance. She said that before qualifying the exam, life was all about studies. At present she is balancing her academic life and her basic duties living alone as well as responsibilities. The preparation for NEET was like a completion but in AIIMS people are like minded supporting each other and providing motivation. First year in AIIMS taught her to enjoy life. She said that beyond studies, one should enhance his or her holistic development.
The most important learning for Mrinal is that to embrace failure. Preparation of an entrance exam is really tough and there is lot of pressure. Each and every situation in life is a paragraph of learning. Mrinal claimed that the life in AIIMS is different. It organises fest, research and different cultural events. Everyone encourages participating in the events. Mrinal added that experience of college life is unique whether acquired your dream college or any other college. One should develop themselves holistically.
Karthika said that scoring more than 660 is a cause of hardworking and the student is intelligent as well. One should not be disappointed for one day performance. Acquiring knowledge beyond textbooks has kept Karthika motivated.
Both the toppers stated that they have studied during the first 6 months of AIIMS as they have done the preparation for NEET for 2 years. The method of study has been changed coping up with friends, colleagues as well as family.
