Sports are one of the most popular ways to maintain good health. It will generally keep us keep our physical condition in a good manner. Sports will not only improve physical health of men, it will also keep women and teenage girls healthier, less disease oriented and as well as fitness of the body. Engaging in sports activities will give more than ten times result than making fitness through usage of additional supplements and working out in gym.
In countries like India, women are given less importance in sports. When we are little children, girls will give tough competition for boys in sports activities. But, after a period of age, they are being neglected directly or indirectly from sports. Or in other sense we can see girls themselves will go backward from sports activities, after a particular age period. These sitting jobs usually make us obese and stressed, which increases the rate of getting diseases. The cardiac issues are now becoming common among working people, than that among old-aged. To prevent these types of earlier attack of lifestyle diseases, engaging in physical activities will be helpful. Also, it will provide some sort of positive energy in you, which will reduce your stress. Engaging in activities itself will keep us away from mental issues like anxiety, depression and sadness.
Sports will also help to increase our skills and as well as our capability. engaging in sports will boost up the leadership skills of a person. It will further increase the self-confidence of a person, which will help for shining in their career.
Women and sports in India
Every child is more engaged in sports activities in their childhood. But, after a certain period of time all of them will reduce the time of playing. This may be mainly due to their education. When they have to study a lot, they will usually ignore sports in their day to day life. In course of time they may get away from sports. In India, this scenario is very common, from place to place.
When we observe the girls who engage in sports, we can see that most of them will drop it after a certain age. In a country like India, the girls are being ignored from getting opportunities in sports. This ignorance is indirect in most of the cases, through weak education, getting married in early age and unspecific rules imposed by the society o them. Usually in India, women are force to learn housekeeping and cooking, rather than learning sports. Moreover, people will force them to get married in the age of just 20 itself. These married girls will face several restrictions to pursue their dreams itself, and so, they also leave sports behind their life. Along with this societal pressure of marriage, there are many myths in India regarding to sports of girls.
Sports will always help girls to have a maintained health. It will give more flexibility and capacity for women to perform in their career also. More over it will decrease the health issues, like obesity, breast cancer, diabetes etc. among girls. Moreover, it will help early diagnosis of such issues also. Along with that it will increase the potential of women. It will create them sufficient to handle work-related issues in a good manner. Also, it will equip them with leadership qualities. Acceptance for both win and lose is also a benefit achieved through sports, for everyone. Sports will change our perspectives to accept win and lose. It will also boost up you to perform more in the coming works. Also, it will teach you the theory that “success and failure are just two sides of a coin”.
Sports will increase the confidence of a person- physically, mentally as well as emotionally. In teenage girls, the healthy body and healthy lifestyle can be increased by engaging in sports activities. Also, it will throw away the shyness in them, to present before a group of people. Along with that, dedication and concentration can also be learned from sports. It will empower girls to break all the stereotypes present in the society.
