Hi
As you all know, I am an avid budget traveler. It has been in my mind since long to help fellow travelers to get best deals so here I go after long
As I hate taking pictures, blog would be only content :)
Starting Delhi: Journey
There are 2 broad road routes ( Delhi to Agra via old faridabad -palwal road and expressway). Remember , not to take KMP expressway if you are starting from Delhi/NCR. it is waste . You travel too much extra. If you are coming from manesar and beyond ( from jaipur ) or Kundli and beyond ( towards Punjab), then you take . But going back is waste
Mathura is very far from expressway so expressway is good only if you plan to go to Agra straight from Delhi
else best is old Delhi faridabad palwal mathura vrindavan agra road.
Day 1 : if you start even by 7-8 am
a. First destination from Delhi would be Vrindavan. Would take you about 3-4 hrs max. Check in into of the modern Dharamshalas. they are like hotels but not hotels. So you would get clean room, attached bathroom with geysers etc and blankets. but you need to carry washroom stuff like towels , toiletries etc .. Room rent is 800 rs per day and 3 beds are there . They don't mind even if 5 people are in one room. They also give food on meal system basis ( Bfast usually at 60 bucks per head, lunch and dinner at 100 with unlimited veg food).. Delhi Dham is one such place and 2-3 others close by. All offering same stuff
I usually stay in Delhi Dham.
You can start roaming around . Banke Bihari temple, Iskcon are popular . Prem mandir really looks nice under lights and you can see other places as per your choice. :Late evening ( may be after dinner), you cna go for Giriraj parikrama or Vrindavan Parakiram itself . This would end your day 1
Day 2 :
Start after Bfast around 9 and go to bharatpur. You would first reach mathura ( you may see Krishna Janmabhoomi if u wish ) and then mathura bharatpur road about 30KM. Total it would not take you more than 1 hr adn you shall be comfortably reaching bharatpur by 10-11.
Enjoy Bharatpur bird sanctuary.
Note: There are cycles available on rent ( rs 50 per person per bicycle for 4 hrs). take that if you can still drive cycle . Cycle rickshaws are available at rs 250/hr for 2 people. Essentially no vehicle can go so third option is walking . After about 3 KM is Kaladeo temple and a small destination kind of. Sanctuary goes further from there also but generally 95% people get tired reaching there. So going from gate to kaladeo temple and back enjoying bird views is around 4 hrs affair
Not much food available inside and you can carry whatever you wish . So if you wish to carry fruits, snacks no problems
Best if you are out by 2-3 and take lunch in one of highway dhabas
From Bharatpur to Agra is again 35 KM and fatehpur sikri is right on this road. So no diversion at all , actually it id 1 KM from hghway. So if you reach Fatehpur sikri by 4, you can enjoy till 5.30-6 . Then you head towards Agra
Reach Agra, check in your hotel and you may got for any shopping of leather goods if you wish . Enjoy dinner and sleep
Day 3:
Tajmahal opens at 8 AM itself so you can start early as soon as you finish Bf'ast. Visit Tajmahal, Agra fort, Akbar tomb , Dyalbagh or any other stuff. take lunch in between
By evening snacks you may leave Agra around 6 oclock
You may take expressway now or Agra- Delhi old highway ( which is great now ) depending upon location of your home in NCR . SO Noida people should take expressway , rest may take other highway. You shall be back easily by 9 PM
Prepare for next morning kids school or office
Hope you get benefit for this
